yesterday, day 5… was my first shake day after the 2 day liquid cleanse.  i could not wait for dinner!  i had my 2 shakes during the day and also a hard-boiled egg for lunch, i was so hungry and it is an approved cheat…we went out to dinner and i had a small glass of chianti, shrimp cocktail, small green salad and linguine with shrimp and scallops, i ate all of the seafood and left most of the pasta.

this morning (day 6) on the scale my weight stayed the same.  today i am going to exercise a little.  i do walk everyday, but i will add a little something to my exercise regime.

i feel pretty good about my overall weight loss so far, 7 lbs is great!!  and i do notice a difference.

as for next steps…i spoke to an isagenix rep, and i have decided to transition from the 9 day cleanse to the 30 day program.  the 30 day program is similiar to the 9 day:  2 shakes a day and cleanse 1 day a week.  the maintenance program is: 1 shake a day and cleanse once or twice a month.  I am not at my goal yet, but this cleanse is not over yet.  my feeling is that since i am still “on vacation” with my family i will do a combination of the 30 day and the mainentance plan.  i also inquired today about substituting a bar for a shake.  mix things up a bit!  oooohh kapow!

ok that’s all for now folks!  will report back tonight.

last night laying in bed was kind of hard for me, but i got through it.  i was definitely obsessing over different things to eat, and dreaming of crispy warm garlic toast.  i finally fell asleep.

this morning i had lost another pound on the scale and measured myself with the tape measure against my starting measurments.  i have lost thus far,  almost 7 lbs and 10.5 inches.

i am having a cup of coffee with milk (not allowed) and will have my chocolate shake in a bit…

waiting to hear back from my friend at isagnix about next steps…will post what she says later today.

almost done with the first 2 cleanse days…just tried to keep busy, we went to the beach in the morning for a few hours.  i sat with my family at dinner and made myself a hard-boiled egg (approved cheat).

i found a new way to drink the “cleanse for life liquid”  best to drink it straight like a shot, over ice works well.  i did not care for the flavor when i mixed it with 8 oz of water – and it’s so much harder to drink.

again, the chocolate isadelights are amazing…i highly reccomend them.  the chocalate “snacks” aint so bad either.  hey at this point paper with butter would probably be delicious.

i will weigh in tomorrow and measure myself to see if i lost inches.

and why are they calling it a 9 day cleanse when it is clearly 11 days!!!  very irritating.

quick morning post…will also post at the end of the day.

good morning!  wow, i really feel lighter!  i just got on the scale and listen to this…it looks like i lost about 5.5 lbs already!  let me tell you how i feel phyically and mentally…

first off, my body feels very achy, like i worked out (which i did not and have not since i started this cleanse) i am not going to the gym for the next month (on vacation, no gym) i have been walking everyday probably on average 2 miles.  aside from the achiness and mild headache, i have a huge pimple on my face.

as for my mental stamina, it is strong.  i feel strong, from the mouth of the queen of all food obsessed people. it’s amazing that I am able do this.  i am really looking forward to tomorrow., i can eat!  i suspect that today will be very hard.  another “cleanse” day ahead of me.  maybe today i will have a hard-boiled egg.  maybe i will get a (healing) massage, it’s a nice compliment to a cleanse.

i would like to know what i am supposed to do after the 9 day cleanse??  it seems most people switch onto the 30 day.  i am not sure if i want to continue this for 30 more days.  i will do some research and find the answers.  i want to lose the weight and then eat normally and healthfully and maintain.

oh by the way, i am having another cup of coffee this morning…(with milk!)  can’t give it up.

so today was my first “cleanse” day…pretty much a day of fasting…i feel ok, maybe a little edgy and a little foggy…looking forward to going to sleep tonight, waking up and getting on the scale tomorrow morning.

i went out to lunch to a pizzeria with my family and made them dinner tonight…i sat with them at both meals and drank my water…of course it was hard, but do-able! not as hard as i might have thought, but… i am really really looking forward to day 5 which is a “shake” day…tomorrow will be another “cleanse” day.

i drank the 4 ounces of the cleanse liquid throughout the day…it’s basically a liquid nutritional supplement that helps your body detox.  it is made up of aloe vera, pau d’arco, summa root, burdock root, fennel seed, licorice root…  i also nibbled on my chocolate snacks, and again drank a ton of water…

i did also have an apple in the afternoon…  i am using my wii fit as a scale and i jumped on it this afternoon and i lost 2.5 lbs so far…

cleanse day cheats

June 27, 2008

i was just re-reading the info for this cleanse, you can have a snack on the “cleanse” days:

one whole food snack if you need it:

apple, almonds or walnuts, green salad with a little olive oil, hard-boiled egg

day 2…
woke up this morning and felt very light and kind of skinny-ish.
(can’t weigh myself, my scale is coming this afternoon via UPS, will post weight loss later.)
not as hard as i might have suspected…
drank the two shakes, one for breakfast and one for lunch. had an apple in the afternoon.
i figured out how to eat the chocolate “snacks”. you have to just nibble them slowly and drink water and somehow they don’t taste as bad. i also purchased something called isadelights. these are very yummy large chunks of rich dark chocolate that are supposed to suppress your appetite and help with weight loss. had a few of them – very satisfying.

i grilled salmon and asparagus for dinner and made a chick pea salad…
i cheated and had a white wine spritzer for dessert..oh well
i am cheating a little this morning (day 3) as well having a small cup of coffee with a touch of milk…i have to! can’t deal with the headache… today will be hard – no food, just liquid…
will post later.

just wanted to post quickly…

today was really really hard for me.  i get migraine headaches quite often and today i was graced with a bad one…could have been brought on by the lack of food, or the absense of my morning coffee… whatever the reason, i stuck it out and stayed on the cleanse…

i woke up, took the accelerator pill.  it seems this pill has only natural ingredients, apple cider vinegar, pau d’arco, ginseng…thankfully it did not make me jittery.  i was a little worried about taking it, but it was fine.

(had to run out for a bag of ice at 7:00am because my ice machine is broken) made a chocolate shake, it’s not bad; tolerable, a little hard to drink fast.  drank a ton of water all day today.  i never drink water, so this was a big task for me.  i did great.  ate the gross chocolate wafer things they like to call “snacks”.  only had 3, could not choke down the other 3…

took the 2nd accelerator pill before dinner was afraid to take it and mix with my migraine rx…so I waited, no problems.  had a nice dinner.  turkey and veggie wrap sandwich with a glass of unsweetened iced tea and a small salad.  i don’t think i was supposed to have the tea…but i had too. day one, done!

June 24, 2008

the name of the diet/cleanse program whatever it is, is isagenix.  i should receive it today via UPS so maybe i will start tomorrow morning!!  ok hope i can do this.  sounds hard – espeicially since we will be summering by the beach…no cocktails?  no big yummy breakfasts!  i can do it!

yesterday i fell off the wagon, God that is SUCH an understatement… not only did i fall off the wagon, it ran me over!  i was horrible.  i had one of those days (really the past 2 days) where i just wanted to eat whatever i wanted…you know what i mean? …i just wanted the freedom and luxury of eating!  i had a delicious hero of crusty italian bread with grilled chicken, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, pesto with pignolis, olive oil and pecorino cheese!  and homemade pizza…and a coke! there’s more but whatever…

very fast weight loss?

June 22, 2008

So the 30 day weight loss thing was interesting.  I definitely went on and off of my eating plan.  I would like to say that, in general, I do have overall good eating habits.  About, 85% of the food in my home is all natural and organic.  I love to cook, so most of our meals are simple, fresh and healthy.  I eat a ton of fruit and yogurt, nuts, beans, grains, olive oil, very little red meat…However, a healthy kitchen does not a skinny girl make!  I would like to lose only about about 10- 15 lbs!  Shouldn’t that be easy?  It’s really not.  SO…..i went to a party the other night, and saw a friend that i had not seen in a while.  She looked great…very thin.  She explained that she has been on this program and lost the weight very quickly about 18 lbs…she said she feels great, more energized, and healthy. She is so happy with this eating plan that even though she has lost the weight she wants to continue to stay on it.  Here’s the gist…2 shakes a day and one sensible meal (sounds like slim fast), i think there is also a cleansing day (or two) in there where you only drink liquids.  Basically it’s an 11 day cleanse.  The diet not only promises weight loss, but a whole body cleanse, removal of toxins bringing you closer to perfect health.

The immediate weigh-loss should really be my first clue to run away, but I can’t…  it’s just too tempting.  I did some research about it online, and i found several non biased regular news programs reviewing it, and the reviews were good.  I looked a little deeper and really found nothing negative, so… I am going to try it. I am SURE that if i dug deeper I would have found some negative press…but since nothing floated to the top, let’s just leave it!  I ordered the goods, they are coming in the mail, will have them in a day or two…I will surely keep you abreast.  I hope I can stay on it!
